Water Tabulation & Availibility

water for sale colorado, north fork associates

History

In 1994 North Fork Associates purchase 2 shares of the Warrior Ditch, 7.71 shares of the Harriman Ditch, 8.71 shares of the Soda Lakes Reservoirs Nos. 1 & 2, and 100% interest in Meadowview Reservoir. All are on Bear Creek, tributary to the South Platte River. Each was quantified as to the historic yield of consumptive use replacement water over a twenty-year period, which included drought years. It was then determined how much of this water could be exchange up Turkey Creek to Meadowview Reservoir at Marshdale each year. From this study it was determined that these water rights had a firm (safe) yield of 39.0 acre-feet on Bear Creek and 23.8 acre-feet on Turkey Creek or a total of 2,000 shares in Mountain Mutual Reservoir Company. A firm yield means that this water right supply is available 365 days of the year through the historically worse drought on record.
