Water Storage

The  other rights are only available for a specific time between April and October, which is the growing season of hay at their particular elevations. Therefore some of the water has to be stored in a reservoir for release during the non-irrigation season. MMRC has a portion of the Lower Sacramento Creek Reservoir, located west of Fairplay and all of the storage capacity in Maddox Reservoir located west of Bailey next to the Middle Fork of the South Platte River. The available space is shown at LSCR Yield and Maddox Yield.
